What we collect and why
- Enquiry and contact forms — name, email address, telephone number, country of residence, preferred language, and the details you choose to share about your plans (for example budget, location, timescale and whether a mortgage is required). We use this to review your enquiry personally and respond.
- Mortgage enquiry information — where you tell us about income, deposit or circumstances so we can prepare your case, we use it only for that purpose and to brief the professionals you agree we should contact.
- ABA Home Path submissions — information you provide through our structured intake (income, employment or business, deposit and source of funds, existing properties, purchase plans) is used to prepare your mortgage journey and give your broker a clearer initial picture.
- Mortgage calculator — the figures you enter into our calculators are processed in your browser to show your result. We do not require personal details to use the calculator, and calculator inputs are not linked to your identity.
- Consultation bookings — bookings are made through Calendly, which collects your name, email address and chosen time under its own privacy policy.
- WhatsApp and email — if you contact us on WhatsApp (+44 7865 487531) or by email, we receive the messages and contact details you send. WhatsApp processes messages under its own privacy policy.
- Cookies and analytics — see our Cookie Policy. Non-essential analytics run only after you give consent, and any analytics we may use will be configured to measure page usage rather than identify you.
How we store information, and for how long
Enquiries and correspondence are stored in our business email and, for Home Path, in the secure Home Path system. We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting engagement, and we review stored information periodically. Where a purchase or mortgage journey completes, related records may be retained for up to six years to meet legal and professional obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymised. We may introduce additional secure storage systems; if we do, this policy will be updated before they are used.
Security. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including access limited to those who need it and reputable service providers. No internet transmission is completely secure, so please avoid sending highly sensitive documents until we have agreed a secure route with you.
Third-party processors. We use service providers to operate the website and our tools — including our website hosting, the Home Path platform, Calendly (bookings) and WhatsApp (messaging). Where you agree, we share relevant information with the professionals coordinating your journey: mortgage brokers, solicitors, accountants, developer sales teams and letting or management partners. We do not sell your personal information.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you (a Subject Access Request), to have inaccurate information corrected (rectification), to have your information deleted where there is no longer a lawful reason to keep it (erasure), to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email berkan@abafinancial.co.uk. We respond within one month, as required by UK GDPR.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk · 0303 123 1113 · Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.
